PDF Document Workbench

Merge multiple PDFs or extract selected pages in one controlled browser workflow. Your source files are processed on this device.

✓ No NexusNova file upload

1. Add and arrange PDFs

Add at least two PDFs.

2. Extract page ranges

Page numbers are 1-based. Ranges are validated against the selected PDF before export.

Load a PDF first.

A workbench is safer than a pile of single-purpose buttons

Document jobs usually involve several decisions at once: which source versions to use, what order they belong in, and whether every page should be kept. This workbench puts those checks next to the file operation instead of forcing you through unrelated pages for each step.

What the browser actually does

PDF bytes are read by the browser's PDF processing library, selected pages are copied into a new document, and the generated file is offered as a download. NexusNova does not need to receive the source PDF for the merge or extraction operation.

Verification before sharing

Open the exported document and check the first page, a page at each file boundary, the final page and the total page count. Digital signatures, interactive form fields, annotations, attachments and unusual PDF features can behave differently after a structural rewrite, so a successful download is not the same as a content verification.

Limits and privacy boundary

Large or image-heavy PDFs can consume substantial memory on phones and older computers. The page is not a secure document vault: the browser, operating system and any browser extensions on your device remain part of the processing environment. Keep the original files until the exported copy has been checked.

Example workflow

Suppose a visitor has a six-page application PDF plus a two-page attachment. They can place the files in the required order, merge them into one document, then reopen the downloaded result to confirm page order. If only pages 2–4 of the application are needed, extraction creates a separate copy without rewriting the source files.

Keep the originals. Browser memory limits become more important with large or image-heavy PDFs, and a successful download does not prove that every advanced interactive PDF feature survived processing.

When a separate tool is still appropriate

A specialized PDF editor may be necessary for forms, digital signatures, embedded multimedia or other interactive features. This workbench is aimed at page-order and page-copy operations rather than full PDF authoring.

Example workflow

For a job application packet, place the cover letter first, then the CV, followed by certificates. After merging, inspect the transitions between files and confirm that no outdated document was accidentally included. For a long reference PDF, use extraction to create a smaller review packet from only the required pages.

Check order and page ranges before exporting

PDF merge and extraction tasks sound simple until a source document contains a rotated page, scanned images, a blank page or a different page size. It lets you choose files, confirm their order and extract selected PDF page numbers. Printed page labels may not match the PDF viewer's page index.

Recommended review sequence

  1. Open the source PDFs and confirm that they are the intended documents.
  2. Arrange files in the order a recipient should read them, such as cover page, main form, evidence and attachments.
  3. For extraction, double-check whether ranges are inclusive and whether a range refers to physical PDF pages or printed page labels.
  4. Download the result with a clear filename, reopen it and inspect the first, middle and last pages.

Check extracted page ranges against the PDF viewer's numbering, especially when a file has a printed cover or scanned booklet. A merge does not prove that the contents are correct, legible or in the right legal order.

Privacy and file-size limits

The core merge and extraction workflow is designed to process the selected PDFs in the browser instead of uploading them to a NexusNova file-storage service. That does not protect files from someone else using the same device or from loss if the tab closes before you download the result. Very large or image-heavy PDFs can use substantial memory and may be slow on older phones. Keep original files until you have verified the export.

PDF workbench questions

Does extracting a page change the original PDF?

The goal is to generate a separate output. Keep the source file and confirm the downloaded copy before deleting anything.
