Why some dates differ from the January circular

The Cabinet Division’s 19 January 2026 annual circular listed anticipated dates for moon-dependent Muslim festivals and explicitly made them subject to moon sighting. Separate notifications later changed some dates. NexusNova therefore shows the later federal declarations where they are available instead of silently keeping the January estimates.

Official references for Pakistan holidays

Primary source: Cabinet Division, Government of Pakistan, “Public and Optional Holidays for the Year 2026” and its 2026 follow-up notifications. The federal Eid-ul-Azha notification declared 26–28 May 2026, the Ashura notification declared 25–26 June 2026, and the Cabinet Division holiday page lists Eid Milad-un-Nabi on 26 August 2026.

Provincial governments, courts, banks, schools, embassies and private employers can publish different or additional closures. Always check the relevant authority for a legal or employment deadline.

Last updated / reference date: Holiday dates carry the published or announced reference available to the page. Dates that depend on later official notification should be rechecked instead of being treated as automatically final.

Worked lookup example

For example, if you are checking the list after Kashmir Day on 5 February 2026, move down the dated table to the next applicable listed holiday and then read its note to see whether the date is fixed or based on a later notification. Holiday calendars can be revised, especially around religious dates, so confirm the latest government notification before making travel, payroll or office-closure decisions.
