CCTV Image Enhancer Online
Improve visibility in CCTV and security-camera stills with brightness, contrast, grayscale, sharpening and optional 2× upscaling. Processing stays in your browser and you can switch between the original and enhanced view.

How to enhance a CCTV image online
Choose a CCTV still above, try the CCTV Clarity preset, then fine-tune brightness, contrast, grayscale and sharpening. Use the Original and Enhanced buttons to compare the processed result with the source image before downloading a copy.
Enhancement works best on detail already captured
Contrast and sharpening can make edges or shapes easier to inspect when the original frame already contains useful information. Upscaling can make a small frame easier to view, but increasing the pixel dimensions does not create reliable new source detail.
Can it make a blurry license plate readable?
Only when enough useful detail already exists in the original pixels. This tool does not invent a plate number, face or missing object. If the camera never recorded the information clearly, browser sharpening cannot reliably recreate it.
Privacy-first processing
The selected image is decoded and processed with browser Canvas APIs. NexusNova does not need to upload the image for the adjustments on this page. Keep the original file when the image matters for legal, identification, insurance or safety-sensitive decisions.
Old photos are supported too
The same controls can help with faded scans or screenshots, but CCTV/security-camera enhancement is the primary workflow on this page. Use the Natural or Old Photo presets when the source is not surveillance imagery.

Enhancement is a visibility aid, not evidence reconstruction
Brightness, contrast, saturation, grayscale, sharpening and scale can make existing image information easier to inspect. They cannot reliably recreate a face, plate character or object detail that was never captured clearly by the original camera. Sharpening can also create halos or edges that look stronger than the underlying source, so an enhanced view should always be compared with the original.
A safer review workflow for security footage
- Keep the untouched source image and work on a copy.
- Check the original at normal viewing size before changing any setting.
- Adjust one or two controls at a time so the effect remains understandable.
- Compare the enhanced view with the original before recording a conclusion.
- Save both versions when the image may later be used for an investigation or report.
Why a blurred license plate may stay unreadable
If the plate occupies only a few source pixels, compression has already removed information, or motion blur has smeared character boundaries, software enhancement has limited material to work with. Upscaling can produce a larger image, but it does not create reliable new plate characters. In a sensitive situation, do not interpret a plausible-looking sharpened shape as verified text unless the original evidence supports it.
What the current controls change
Brightness changes overall luminance, contrast expands or compresses the difference between dark and light regions, saturation changes color intensity, grayscale removes color, sharpening emphasizes local edges, and scale changes the output dimensions. The page lets you view the original as a comparison state and prevents an output above its configured pixel-area limit. That makes the tool useful for inspection and preparation, but not for certifying what happened in a recording.
Privacy and handling
The enhancement operation is performed in browser-side canvas code for the selected image. Even with local processing, keep in mind that the surrounding webpage can still load normal web resources. For highly sensitive footage, use a controlled device and retain the original file in secure storage.
CCTV-enhancement questions
Can sharpening reveal details that the camera never captured?
No. Brightness, contrast and sharpening can make existing pixel patterns easier to inspect, but cannot reliably recover information lost to blur, distance, compression or overexposure.
Is an enhanced image suitable as the only evidence?
Keep the original file unchanged, record which adjustments were applied and follow the relevant evidence-handling procedure. Enhancement is a viewing aid, not independent verification of identity or events.
