Calculation method

These are astronomical calculations, not an official mosque timetable.

NexusNova uses the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi calculation settings: 18° for Fajr and 18° for Isha. You can choose Hanafi or Shafi Asr. Calculation code is provided by the open-source Adhan JavaScript library, pinned to version 4.4.6 under the MIT License.

How to use the result carefully

Choose the city that best matches your actual location, then select the Asr method you follow. For example, changing from Karachi to Lahore changes the astronomical inputs, while changing Hanafi to Shafi can change the calculated Asr time. The Qibla value is a geometric bearing from the selected coordinates to the Kaaba; it does not guarantee that a phone compass is calibrated correctly.

If you use device location, compare the displayed city/location context and the calculated times with a trusted local timetable before relying on them. A difference of a few minutes can come from method, elevation, atmospheric assumptions, rounding or safety offsets used by local authorities.

Prayer-times calculation limitations

Prayer timetables can differ by mosque, authority, elevation, local convention, safety offsets and scholarly method. For congregational prayer or a religious obligation, follow your trusted local mosque or authority if its timetable differs from this calculator.

What this tool does not claim

NexusNova does not label these calculations as an official religious ruling or mosque schedule. The calculator is designed to make the calculation method visible, show the selected Asr convention and provide a Qibla bearing that you can independently cross-check.

Last updated / reference date: Prayer times are calculated from the selected location and stated method rather than fetched as an official mosque timetable. If required location inputs are unavailable, the page should not invent a local prayer time.

How location and calculation choices affect the result

Prayer-time calculations depend on the selected city's geographic coordinates, the date and a calculation convention for solar angles. This page uses the Karachi method with an 18-degree Fajr/Isha angle and lets the user choose Hanafi or Shafi Asr settings where provided. These are calculation inputs, not a statement that every mosque or local authority follows the same convention. Small location differences and local timetables can produce differences of several minutes.

Use the times responsibly

  1. Select the city that matches your location, not simply the nearest large city if you live far outside it.
  2. Confirm the date and the calculation options displayed by the page.
  3. Review the returned prayer times and Qibla direction without assuming they replace a local timetable.
  4. For worship decisions, compare important results with a trusted local mosque or recognised religious authority and follow the convention you normally use.

Qibla direction is a geographic bearing toward the Kaaba; it is not automatically a reading from your phone's compass. Nearby buildings, magnetic interference, phone calibration and the difference between true north and magnetic north can affect how a compass points in practice. Use a properly calibrated compass only as one aid and cross-check the direction with a reliable local reference if precision matters.

What the calculator cannot guarantee

A city-level result may not reflect a user's exact coordinates, elevation, local horizon, high-latitude adjustment or a community's published timetable. The displayed result is a calculation aid rather than a religious ruling, official notification or guarantee for every locality. Seasonal changes and differences between calculation organisations should be expected, not treated automatically as an error.

Prayer-times and Qibla questions

Why can a mosque's time differ from this result?

Mosques may follow a different calculation method, add a local precautionary margin or use a timetable prepared for a precise location.

Does the Qibla result account for my phone compass?

A city-level bearing is not the same as a live compass sensor reading. Verify the direction in your actual location using an appropriate method.
