How to use the resume builder

Start with your name, professional title and contact details, then add a short summary that explains the kind of work you do and the strengths most relevant to the role. Add skills as short, specific phrases. In the experience area, put the newest or most relevant role first and describe responsibilities or results in plain language. Add your education or certifications last, then read the preview from top to bottom before exporting.

Privacy and local draft storage

The form is designed for browser-side drafting. The current draft is saved with localStorage on this device so a page refresh does not immediately remove your work. The Clear draft button removes the saved draft from this browser. Avoid entering passwords, identity-document numbers, bank information or other sensitive data that does not belong on a resume.

Saving the resume as PDF

The builder uses the browser's print feature rather than uploading your resume to a PDF-generation server. Select Print / Save as PDF, choose the browser's PDF destination when available, review margins and page count, then save the file. Different browsers and printers can format page breaks slightly differently, so inspect the final PDF before sending it to an employer.

Keep the resume focused

Use specific responsibilities and measurable results where possible. A short, readable resume is usually easier to scan than a page filled with generic phrases. Review names, dates and contact details carefully before exporting.

This builder does not claim to guarantee employment, interview selection or applicant-tracking-system results. It is a formatting and drafting utility.

Quick resume checklist

  • Use a professional email address and current phone number.
  • Keep dates and job titles consistent with your records.
  • Prefer concrete achievements over vague claims where possible.
  • Remove spelling mistakes and unnecessary personal details.
  • Open the exported PDF once before submitting it anywhere.

Resume Builder FAQ

Does NexusNova upload my resume draft? The current builder stores the draft locally in this browser and uses the browser print dialog for PDF export. Can the tool guarantee ATS compatibility? No. Applicant-tracking systems differ by employer and can change. Can I edit later? The saved draft remains available in the same browser until it is cleared or the browser's site data is removed.

For writing guidance, see the resume writing guide. For privacy and implementation details, review the Tool Methodology.

Turn experience into evidence, not a task list

A useful resume helps a reader understand the type of work you did, the context, and the result. Instead of writing only “responsible for customer service,” describe the service task, the scale you handled and a truthful outcome when you can support it. Numbers can help, but do not invent percentages, client counts, revenue or achievements just to make a bullet sound impressive.

Tailor the order of skills and experience to the role you are applying for. Use the job description to identify relevant terms, then include them naturally where they describe real work you performed. Keep dates, job titles and education consistent, and review the PDF at a normal viewing size so that page breaks, headings and contact details are easy to follow.

Review privacy before sharing

The browser draft is useful for preparing a resume without creating a NexusNova account. A local draft is not automatically synchronised to other devices, and clearing browser data may remove it. Export the final document to a location you control, review the information in the exported PDF, and avoid including personal data that an employer does not reasonably need at the application stage.

Resume-builder questions

Should every resume use the same template?

No. Keep the document readable and consistent, but emphasise experience relevant to the role, industry and application instructions.

Can a resume template guarantee interviews?

No. A tool can help with layout and drafting, but employers make decisions based on fit, experience, requirements and their own process.
